Blaser R93 is manufactured by Blaser, which is a subsidiary of the Swiss SIGARMS company. It is a German sniper rifle, which is used heavily by the German and Dutch police forces. It is a sniper-rifle having a bolt action which is chambered for 7.62mm NATO, .300 Win Magnum and .338 Lapua calibers. The barrel is 23.6" that is almost 600mm and 30" that is almost 762mm in length and is made of hammer forged chrome molybdenum steel which is cryogenically treated and then fluted to minimize the vibration and to optimize the cooling effect. The Blaser weighs 5kg.
The BlaserR93 is very accurate and is affordable which is mainly intended for police, military and for civilian precision shooting and long-range hunting. The Blaser R93 is mainly constructed to use at ranges of 500meters and beyond.
The BlaserR93 is actually built on an aluminum frame, with non-slip polymer-covered aluminum furniture. There is a stock which can be adjusted for its length by pulling through the spacers and also a vertically adjustable cheek piece. The butt plate can be adjusted both up and down direction and pivots 15 degrees right or left. Its buttstock can be fine tuned with a threaded 'foot'. There is a trigger blade which can be moved in horizontal direction.
The rifle assesses in it all of the necessary features, and it even includes some of the latest features like the muzzle-break, adjustable stock, and a detachable magazine.
The stock is made of aluminium with skeleton architecture where else the buttstock and fore end is completed in black synthetic for a solid grip. The cheek piece is fully adjustable. The trigger has a first and second stage which can be adjustable for its weight, take up, and over travel. There is a scope mount which is prepared for the Blaser Saddle Mount equipped with a Harris bipod.
The beginning of a revolution in bolt-action design was truly marked by the Blaser rifles. First and foremost, the main cause of it to conquer such great heights is the fast, smooth, straight pull bolt movement of it. Another main outstanding and distinguishing feature of this rifle from other conventional bolt actions is that it can be used by simply pulling the bolt to the rear and pushing it forward and there is no need of lifting. It is really fast and smooth that it hardly affects the next shot.
Another remarkable feature of this rifle is Blaser's Radial Locking System. It is built around a radial bolt that is likely to expand 360º to make full, rigid contact right inside the completely free floated barrel for solid lock-up. The sear-free trigger mechanism and the free-floated barrel play a major role in contributing to Blaser's performance. In all, these distinguishing features and inventions ultimately result in a great accuracy that cannot be matched by conventional bolt-action rifles. Taking in account any single caliber, this rifle would rank one among the best bolt-action rifles in the world. All that is needed to provide maximum versatility in the Blaser R93 is quick take-down and a replacement of barrel and bolt head.
The remarkable and advanced Blaser Radial Locking System gives many distinct advantages .Firstly, as the bolt is directly locked into the barrel and is not locked into the receiver; it is easy to get a full-length barrel in a rifle that is 4 inch shorter in overall length. Secondly, as the bolt locks directly into the barrel, the frame receives minimum stress; this makes the Blaser lighter and portable. Thirdly, for greater system strength and durability in the Blaser Radial Locking System, stress is distributed through out a full 360° of contact .Next is as the bolt head is locked directly into the barrel, the head space is very accurately controlled. Finally, as the bolt head is free-floating, it self-trues into a concentric position within the bore, and thus it relieves stress and assures a higher degree of accuracy.
Till date there has not been any rifle that has been invented with the versatility or pure shooting as that of BlaserR93. Barrels are actually cold hammer forged and they are mechanized to accept the detachable scope mounts. The atmospheric point-of-aim cannot be affected as the barrels are free-floated.
The Blaser R93 Attache is an ultimate take-down rifle having 14 calibers ranging from .22-250 Rem. to .338 Win. Mag. The Attache has a highly figured select walnut, a rosewood forend and a fluted barrel. The Attache breaks down quickly and very easily and while reassembling there occurs no loss of zero. The perfect carry rifle for those long treks is, the Attache, which weighs less than 6.5 lbs.
