Major AK, When the Model 700 was introduced over 40 years ago, it was ahead of its time. It’s still a superior rifle. In fact, with accuracy and reliability in mind, it sets the standards for other bolt actions rifles. Its heritage speaks volumes. It was employed by Carlos Hathcock ‘White Feather’ a famous Vietnam Sniper. In recognition of past military service, Remington has introduced the M40 Rifle to commemorate the U.S.M.C. Scout/Snipers who served in Vietnam. A limited production rifle replicated to the original rifles built under contract for the United States Marine Corps in 1966. Many of us view this rifle as the most popular of all factory-built American rifles. With the exception of the Savage 110, the economy model bolt action. The foundation of the 700 action is its unique bolt design. The bolt face, barrel, and receiver surround and support the cartridge head with three overlapping rings of solid steel. The receiver is machined from a solid block of ordnance-grade steel, then drilled and tapped for scope mounts. Law Enforcement agencies order the rifles with heavy, free-floating 26" barrels crowned at the muzzle for additional accuracy and stability. The M25 was developed by the Special Forces for a sniper rifle to satisfied the requirements of the Army Special Forces and the Navy SEALs. The rifle the 'Light Sniper Rifle', and it is also known as the 'Sniper Security System' and 'Product Improved M21'". It has been named "White Feather" in honor of Hathcock. Now add the M-24 system to your options AK. It has multiple-shot capacity with competition accuracy at extended ranges. Based on M700 and M40 rifles, the barrel's rifling technology reduces bullet deformation, fouling, improves velocities and barrel life. Hope this helps.
