I am suprised no one has posted any thing about this yet. For those of you who have not heard the news yet, the supreme court released their results on the D.C. gun ban. The found that the out right ban on hand guns was unconstitutional. This is a big decision for our rights. Up untill now the courts have always focused on the "Well regulated militia" and not "The rights of the People" in the second amendment.

Here in Columbus, Ohio the local papers covered the story, but I haven't seen a thing on the tube. They finally got one right, but the animal cuddlers and Democraps will counter attack! Thanks for getting the word out, but it's more of a conversation for off topic.

We should hail this decision. As gun owners, let's applaud the Supreme Court’s historic decision. The Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear firearms. Now on to Chicago. A City that has almost complete handgun prohibition with the most crime ridden urban areas in this Country. It's not hard to guess why... individual-rights to reasonable protection of life and limb. It's time to keep America's streets safe RnG Members.

My father was a trucker, and we lived in chicago in 1979. I was elevin yrs old and as we pulled up beside a semi at a red light, there was a pick-up truck behind the semi, unloading it! My Dad grabbed his tire checker and yeld at the trucker, "You're being jacked"; the driver yeld back, "Are you crazy? I'm not going to try to stop'em". This happened at a busy intersection in broad daylight. My Dad quit carrying his tire checker after that and started carrying his .357 service revolver and moved us back home to Kentucky the next spring. Chicago still scares the hell out of me!

Chicago - terrific memories for an eleven year old.
What an arm pit of a City. Hey, the northern suburbs of Minneapolis is no better. The only difference is that the Chicago media will call a spade a spade, while the Twin Cities news media won't even provide a description of the criminals for fear of upsetting the NAACP.

You got that right.

Roving gangs will beat anyone with the courage to confront them. They attack bus drivers when asked for the bus pass or fee. A father who came to the defense of his 12-year-old daughter at Valleyfair, a local amusement park, is recovering after being badly beaten by a group of young black men.
The incident began when the girl's breasts where grabbed by two black men while waiting in line for a amusement ride. After a brief confrontation with her father, one of the men used his cell phone to call his friends at the park for help, saying he “needed his boys back over here to get these bitches.” Soon, the father was severely beaten to unconsciousness — including having his face stomped on and kicked by seven black males. The 41-year-old father, he was treated for a fractured eye socket, numerous cuts to the face and arms and bleeding on the brain.

In my humble opinion that is attempted murder. Lethal force would have been justified by any reasonable and prudent person.

The only way for anyone without direct knowledge of the case, to know that the perpetrators where black was to read about it on line. The news papers or television news would not identify them as black males. That is blatant editing of relevant information.

I definitely agree with your assessment of that situation. Only problem is we're not allowed to carry concealed weapons in an amusement park. Or at least that is the case in Florida.
The papers were afraid to print that due to possible legal action by the NAACP.
That organization had it's time and place, but that time has passed.

I must apologize for the HEAT contain in my last post. I could have used more eloquent language. My wife reads my posts. Remember my friends that behind every halfway respectable man, there is a much better woman. Her comment was that as a moderator I should always take the higher road. I allowed my emotions to enter into my posting. For this I sincerely apologize to the RnG community and guests. There is good and bad in every culture. My displeasure is with the news media not with the African American society as a whole. Please forgive me.

As always LT Colonel Brad, you are absolutely correct.

The law here is that each park has the right to ban firearms on the property. However, just perhaps if trained armed individuals were present. The whole idea of conceal carry. Wouldn’t that natural prohibit this pack mentality? If life and limb is threatened to a point that provides just cause to use lethal force. Wouldn’t they think twice prior to attacking the innocent for fear of immediate retribution?

General, I don't think your post was out of line at all. I just re-read it, and you simply stated the facts. The HEAT is created by the reader's disgust (rage) due to what he's being told.
Make no mistake General, your opinion is valued and a toned down version would be a disappointment. This forum is ours right? Are we worried about what an outsider might think or feel? If that's the case then we have given up our freedom of speech. Not a good idea to start conceding those type of freedoms. You know which one would be next.....

Lt Colonel Smith,

Thank you for pointing out that fact. I have been accused of being too politically correct at times. I always appreciate your comments.

My darling wife also agrees with you.
She said "This forum isn't a coffee club for women, you are men and shouldn't have to apologize for being men."

Thanks again to both you and Lt Colonel Brad.

Friends, I just got back from good ole NYC. Flew up for a long weekend to say farewell to an iconic piece of American history. Yankee Stadium will be no longer after this season, so I couldn't miss my opportunity to watch a game in it's last season. She was a beauty, and for those of you with the means, it is a highly recommended adventure. I have some observations about my time in this great American city that I will share with you guys when I'm not suffering from long airport delays. A preview of my future post is that those of us who are fortunate enough to live in states where they allow us to carry should be lobbying for that right in those states that don't.
