I carry a firearm because a Law Enforcement Officer is too darn heavy and when seconds count, the Police are just minutes away. I was once asked by a neighbor lady visiting if I had guns in the house. I said there did. She replied well I certainly hope you don't have any of them loaded. I said, of course I have a loaded firearm near by. They won’t work to well without bullets. Having a gun in the house that isn't loaded is like having a car in the garage without gas. She then inquired, are you that afraid some evil person will break into your house? My reply was, No. I am not afraid of the house catching fire either, but I have fire extinguisher and it's loaded too. The purpose of carrying a firearm is to prevail. The sword is more important than the shield. The skill and ability to use it is even more important. The weapon is the brain, your firearm is just the tool. I'm a firm believer in this Nation’s 2nd Amendment. If you feel the same I salute you. If not, perhaps you should feel grateful to those that do. As they have accepted the civic duty to help protect you and your way of life... |
