Like most of you, I have a job and work hard for my pay. I contribute to State and Federal taxes. Our government distributes my portion as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test. A drug test. Hey, I have no problem passing or being asked to take it. What I do have a problem with, is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to take or pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check? I have to pass to earn my salary. Why not welfare recipients? Please understand, I realize people need help once and a while to get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their @$$, doing who knows what kind of drugs, while I work long hours to put my children through collage so they can be productive members of society. Imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check? Please reply to this post if you agree something has to change. Hell, I would challenge those that don't agree with me. I just might enjoy reading your post... At least I would be getting something for my money! |

I think you have something there! The Liberals will never go for it though. I'll keep looking in on this one. |

I think that's the best idea. Actually I saw this in an e-mail a couple weeks ago. According to the Constitution this is our country and the government's sole purpose is to carry out the will of the people, so it's just a matter of getting significant support. Is everybody willing to go on the campaign trail? |

You got my vote, that'd put some people out in the cold, which is where they should be. "We deal in Lead, friend." Steve Mcqueen from the Magnificent Seven. |

the money saved would be spent on all the crime and homeless shelters, that would be directly linked to all the poor people that would turn to the streets to survive because one way or another they will still do there drugs .and the money would probably come from stuff theyll steal from you and me.i think there is other solut5ion like welfaree to work programs. they can work if there would be more focus on these kinds of programs offer sorts of rehabs for drug addiction,i live in northern california where crank, speed or meth whatever you want to call it hasd taken over it is an epidemic.it is out of control and it is widespread in the welfare community and this would be a good way to combat this problem so insted of sweeping the problem under the carpet we should fight it head on.just my thoughts let us know |

I remember a few years back standing in line at the store to buy some hotdogs for the grill, and the guy in front of me buying steaks with a food stamp card! Then when we walked out into the parking lot, he got into his twenty thousand dollar car and drove off, talking on his cell phone. I feel you guys, but we are the minority. |

You are right! I know some people that trade their food stamps for drugs and booze. But that isnt much different than child support. Pleanty of them out their using the money for drugs and booze and supporting lazy boyfriends. While the guy paying is scratching his head trying to figure out how to pay his bills. |

How true Sergeant! Climbing up from the bottom, I've seen it all. I've also seen good people fall 'cause of stupid mistakes; but sooner or later they start to come back. Users andf abusers don't go very far and they'll never get there to come back from it.... |
