Is anyone as disappointed as I am with what is sure to be our choices for president in 2008? Is this really the best our country has to offer? Barrack Obama? I don't think so. John McCain? Not even close. Hillary Clinton? I like my civil rights, so again, I don't think so. I'm going to choose "none of the above."
I was really hoping to see someone willing to return our country to us, the people. The only candidate that I thought might do this was Ron Paul. Ron definitely has some faults, but how better to return our country to greatness, than to get us back on the path laid out by our founding fathers?
Sincerely,
Disappointed American

I gotta go with Mike Huckabee, the man has a concealed carry permit.

I don't trust career politicians. We could do worst than Huckabee. At least he is honest, a trite few politicians possess. The problem in my opinion is the best people for the job run the other way. Frankly, I don't blame them.
How about we write-in votes for Commander Norman Schwarzkopf or General Colin Powell. Now there are two men that our enemies would fear and respect!

I have to admit that the choice is slim to none. It has come down to no one who is qualified to run, runs anymore because of the magnifying glass that the news media puts on the candidates. If they have ever had a problem in their lives at any time it will be brought out to embarass their family and ruin their careers.

This Presidential election year is scarry as all get out. As has already been spoken by all of you we really don't have a choice. If we wanted to play the game of "American Idol" like all the young people are doing with Barack Obama, when they even clap and yell when he blows his nose we have a real problem. This guy was asked about his 2nd Ammendment stance, and he said he was for it and supported it. But, the next day he said he supported the New York Ban of private ownership of firearms. I guess we know where he stand don't we? We all as firearms enthusiasts are really in for a battle in the coming days it looks like.

Can the NRA, Gun Owners of America, and Jews For the Preservation of Firearms and the Second Ammendment Foundation do all that needs to help us keep our firearms? They surely need our help that is for sure as each one of us by ourselves cannot do it alone we need each other and we need to support as much as possible these organizations that are fighting the status quo of Washington DC. I with you Chaindriven Commander Norman Schwarzkopf sounds good to me, but, I bet he wouldn't take it for any amount of money these days. General Petraus (spelling sorry), would be another great write in and leader in these days of terror threats. But, we are stuck with what we have and that is nearly nothing that will help you and I in our quest for more liberality in firearm ownership.

I am sure you all have heard this before many times but, it is worth repeating again A wise man once told me, "when it comes to freedom, you either wear the uniform or write a check to support those who do, because freedom is NOT free."

Huckabee wouldn't be a bad choice, but McCain is the Republican nominee. That contest is over already, whether Huckabee wants to admit it or not. I wouldn't even have a problem with McCain, if he didn't sell himself out. I always had respect for him until he kissed and made up with a man (W) who degraded and diminished his service to his country. If someone were to use those type of tactics against me, at the very least I would never speak to that person again. Personally, I was disgusted by those tactics and I was amazed that they worked. Coming from a man who used his family's political power to avoid the real conflict in Vietnam, and who's service in the National Guard was highly questionable, I found it blasphemic. So for McCain to stand behind W so steadfastly since then tells me that he just wants to be President. He will not get my vote. If it's Obama v. McCain, or Clinton v. McCain, I will certainly be writing in a vote for Ron Paul.
Interestingly, none of you have even spoken of Ron Paul. Have you looked at his platform?

rifles guns and politics the three seam to always come together every 4 years no matter what... last thing we need is tighter gun control. Look at DC, what's next!

I agree. I am afraid to think of what could happen next. I pray to our Heavenly Father that the Supreme Court hands down the correct ruling and strikes a huge blow to the DC Handgun Ban. Don't the people of our Nation's Capital realize the reason that DC has so many murders is that fact that criminals are confident when they point their guns at their victims, they won't have anything to defend themselves. When guns are outlawed, only outlaws have guns.

man only if there was still self-governing people instead of national but as only reserved states.even though as one country would be better but there would be a lot of stuff going on. but if guns were outlawed the military would to or unless we would have a general as a president

yeah being Inupiaq is great
