Colonel, that sounds like a challenge. The Colt Government Model is a combat proven firearm that served our Forces for many years. Colt’s Series 70 & 80 are reproductions of the government model. The firearm is durable, rugged and dependable. They hold their value very well. Easy to maintain and many models are accurate for a service grade pistol. The Defender and Combat Commander models perform well and are compact, lightweight to carry. I own a Combat Commander 38 Super Government Model. At one time the 38 super was the most powerful and flat-shooting cartridge available. Now I'm showing my age and digressing. The Gold Cup with it's adjustable trigger and sight are very accurate. However, I like the old Gold Match Kimbers. But that's me. One of the latest pistols manufactured by Colt was the 1991A1 Series. A descendant of the original 1911A1 and quite respectable as Colt attempted to compete with all the 1911 clones on the market.
