well it depends on what kind of gun, shotguns for instance 26 is better for hunting ducks or turkey 20 would be better for more tactical applications like home defense. same really for rifles really. |

the remington model 700 makes severalmodels of bolt rifles most have 22" barrels stock but chambered in .308 cal should be good i know marine snipers are still using the 700 base for there rifles the prices range from $1,400 down to $500 depending on the model you choose also a good scope isnt going to hurt either savage also makes pretty good rifles personally i would stick with the 700's though. |

REMINGTON 700P ZERO AT 100M , WHEN WE SHOT AT 200 I HAD A 1 INCH DROP , MINE HAS 26IN BARREL , AVERY ONE ELSE WITH THE LTR SHORT BARREL HAD A 2 - 2 1/2 INCH DROP SAME LOAD 308 FED GOLD MATCH 168 GR , ALL WHERE FROM THE SAME LOT.# I PREFER THE 26 INCH BARREL 4" DOES MAKE A DIF. |

i was looking at alot of diffrent 700's seen a lot of them came stock with a 22" barrel i figuered you could get an after market barrel 26" or 24" |
