Well it was used in "From Russia with Love" James Bond shot at a helicopter and the co-pilot had a grenade in his hand which fell into the heli and blew it up..thats why my son wanted it.

It all stores in the stock which will float (disassembled or assembled it still floats)

It shoots pretty accurate, it comes with a stock 8 rd mag..I bought the 15 rd mag and it needs some Dremel work done to it, very tight fit.

I have a buddy who keeps one in his truck and family car w/ about 2oo rds of ammo.

Vachss, AR-7 .22 rifle was designed by Eugene Stoner for the Air Force as a survival rifle for downed pilots. Not many USAF personal would trust their lifes to it. The barrel unscrews from the action, the action detaches from the stock, and all of the parts then fit into the plastic stock. The rifle weights two and a half pounds. The magazine holds eight rounds. The AR-7 has a very crude peep sight. Stock fit is big when hunched over it to look through the sight. They have a poor reputation for jamming at the worst possible moment. Accuracy at the short range is just OK, and pretty poor at greater distances. By today’s standards of .22LR rifles it won't pass the smell test. Just my humble opinion.

yes, yes, I know Chain..but nobody cares about that history as it was never used by the Air Force..
The "jamming" is directly related to the magazine and its firm placement into the well as well as the manufacturer..a few companies have made this fine gun..
Also the grade of ammo used makes a significant change in accuracy and feed action. My son hits targets at 125 repeatedly..
All of my .22's use CCI Stingers..and this gun fires perfectly..but that 15rd..pfft

So you own one of these guns?

LIVE FREE OR DIE.
Had one for a few years back in the 70's. Beats a sharp stick, most of the time. Never jammed, but could not get use to that damn 8 lb. trigger pull.
