I'm confussed because i ca´'t find it on the net so please teach and take this ignorance out

Well it just the just a decimal repersentation of inches in Decimal. and the 0 at the end mean nothing. So it's the same thing, just a diameter. it doesn't matter it it's .5 or .5000000000000000 it's still just a half inch

YEAH, IT DOEST MATTER IF IT IS .50 OR .500..... BECAUSE WHEN YOU CONVERT IT TO mm FOR THE DIAMETER, BOTH WILL GIVE YOU THE ANSWER 12.7mm.... SO DON'T BE CONFUSED SIR... IT'S A DECIMAL VALUE SO IT DOESNT MATTER HOW MANY ZEROS ARE THERE....
