I was looking at some new 1911's the other day and ran accross a 10mm. I really know nothing about this caliber and that was the first time I had run accross it. I own 9mm's and 45's and a pocket .380, but, what are the pros and cons of this caliber? Of all the calibers and guns that my friends have none of them have a 10mm.

I heard that those who used it loved it. It's powerful, it's pretty accurate. It does have some recoil though, a little more than a .357 Sig. The only gun I've fired it in was a Colt Delta Elite, and it worked fine then. I've heard weapons like the Bren Ten would break due to the pressure of the round, so I'd stay away from those. The ammo for it is a little expensive, and can be hard to find.

The 10mm will obviously do anything the 40 s&w. will do and with a wee bit more steam, but if you insist in sooting a .40 caliber gun why not pick the one that will have readily avaiable ammo 30 years from now.You may not be shooting it but your progney may wish they could.

Actualy, Bullseye, I think owning the .45 solves all of your problems: owning the 9mm,the 380,and thinking about buying the 10mm..... Tex

the 10mm is better than a 9mill and the 45.call b/c it is the remake of the45.cal with a bit more better and accurate

After writting my initial question, I have learned quite a bit about the 10mm. And, alleycatt I agree with you, that my 45's solve any problem that I will ever run into. The 45 will carry its load just fine.
