it seems nevada has no gun laws that seriously need to be considered. california on the other hand has many. i am wondering, can i bring weapons purchased in nevada to california, and how do i travel back and forth in an suv. i have no trunk to separate gun and ammunition. i'm confused about this. |

Im not sure about calli but in virginia we used to have the rule of three. Basicaly if it takes you more than three seperate actions to retrieve the weapon then it is not considered to be concealed. Such as a gun in the glove box. unlock the glove box, open the glove box, retrieve the gun, load the gun. like I said I dont know if this would apply to you but if you contact local law enforcement they may be able to help to |

From what I understand the law in Texas is the firearm has to be out of lunging range. Unless you have a conceal and carry lic. The laws are very confusing on this issue. This is what I was told when I took my conceal and carry class. |

As long as you have a trigger lock and out of arms reach you should be fine. |

If you go to the following page put up by the Bureau of Firearms of the Office of the Attorney General of California, you can retrieve information about transporting weapons in California and you can also navigate to other pages with other summaries of California law regarding weapons, their use and possession in California. http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/?PHPSESSID=cb3d47609821c7c2776b6094226e34fd Mother Nature is a stern teacher who eventually kills all of her students. |

i guess my real issue is this, carrying a gun that can't be used makes no sense. i'm a solo traveler and the roads of america do cause me some concern. my preferred weapon is a shotgun, well, i guess doberman's aren't illegal. |

The issue needs to be addresses seriously rather than just toungue in ckeek. When you read the laws of each state that has a conceal carry permit law, each one varies to some degree. Only Alaska and Vermont has it right where they have a open carry law. But, then we have 5 other states where they have no conceal carry permits allowed. Which makes it a problem if you are traveling through one of those states with California the most difficult. If you just happen to get stopped by the police for a traffic citation it can always be a problem if you are carrying a loaded gun in the car, and what is the use of carrying an empty gun locked in your trunk as many of the states require you to carry it. We need a nation wide carry law for all the states. But, with the Democrats in power hell will freeze over before that happens. Has anyone applied for the Veterans Permit that is issued by Florida? www.legallyarmed.com can give you the information on obtaining it. So, traveling with guns continues to be a mind bender because of the lack of continuity in state laws. Oh, how we need some people in govenment who are thinkers rather than politicians. |

I know that my NC. concieled carry permit is recognized in 43 other states, and I just refuse to travel too or through the other seven.I do agree with Bullseye, we need to pressure the house and senate on this issue. And the republicans need to know that they WILL NOT get votes until they grow a spine on this. |
