Start her smll, a .22 LR Rifle. Low noise, low recoil. Move up from there, is all I can suggest. make it fun, set up some tin cans and let her plink away. Show her the weapon, let her hold it and get comfortable with a rifle. Hell if she's scared of a .22, start with a BB gun.

well, in this private's opinion, if your girlfriend doesn't like guns. leave it be. you can't share all your hobbies. some women love guns, other's don't. the real thing though is, if your girlfriend doesn't like guns, she probably, on some level, fears you and your guns. women don't say what they feel sometimes, your guns are probably giving her a trust issue. you're thinking, i want to share my hobby with her, she's thinking, why does he like guns so much and what does it mean to me, am i safe with him.

I agree with jolly roger start out small, really small. Like a BB gun because they have almost none at all if any recoil. As a kid we got stuffed animals we didn't like and used those as targets ... GOOD LUCK

Take her to a shooting range and have her watch behind the glass for alittle while to see it's not that bad

avp you have already received some very good advise, but, I may add one more thing that you may try. My wife did not like guns at all for some reason, but, as I was dry firing my guns around the house (dry fire is firing your gun with nothing in them) she just watched me do this. One day she asked if she could try that, so, I showed her how to cock the hammer aim and pull the trigger. Of course there was no noise, no recoil, just fun. I taught her all the safety items that were on the gun and why they were there. She enjoyed it and shortly after I bought her, her first gun. She is now a gun enthusiast and owns several guns that are her's and her's alone. Her favoirite is a 9 mm Browining Hi power. So, go easy as fear is a funny thing, some fear can be overcome and some cannot. So, with your wife, just do what does not scare her or cause her to be upset. Going to the range is probably one of the best, and I am talking about an indoor range because your wife can get behind glass yet watch you shoot. But, this dry firing thing is really good as it has no noise, has all the safety and nothing can happen that is negative as long as you do not force the issue on her.
