I would sugjest you look at a 375 magnum which is a good all rounder or 416
We use these calibers on dangerous game in africa

Ah! but have you used one against a bison, it's a bit like using an RPG against a landrover. If you didn't drop it cleanly it would just get angry and chase you around the place. Then the weight of the .50 cal would slow down your getaway. then you have a choice, dump a very expensive piece of hardware and escape with your life, or die clutching the afforementioned piece of hardware......
My buddy Andre accidentally wounded a wildebeest in Zim a good few years back, he was on foot and barely had time to hide under his vehicle before this really pissed off animal repeatedly battered his landy to bits trying to exact its revenge. Myself and the rest of the gang watched in amusment from about 200mtrs away, as mates do. We never did tell him why it took over 30 shots to kill the poor beast, most of which appeared to be aimed at his vehicle.

that is funny ! i own 2 land rovers his and her's.they do have a tendency to get angry. now tell this guy to buy a barret 107 , six pack of beer , and four clay more ! set up clay mores in front of landrover.front toward bison, get under land rover, drink six pack while waiting for bison . aim 50 cal barret , with prejudice if you miss . claccc claaac ! finish six pack , talk crapp at hunting camp . drink more beer !

Hey Fred, I like the idea of the His and hers Landy. What type do you have? I have just bought the wife a 1998 Disco She won't drive anything else, except my 110 which is what she goes shopping in. (nobody parks near the thing, probably out of respect) I also have a couple of 90 pickups, and three flat packed 110's, not CKD you understand, these have been rolled a couple of times, off several hills.... enough said.
Next to shooting, Landrovers are my next favourite thingto stay alive for.
As for .50 cal barrett, i much prefer the Hungarian M4B Gepard, A bit Heavier but there is much less recoil, i just wish i could source one.
must talk landrovers sometime, stay in touch.

I only ever go to the dealerships to give myself something to smile about when i feel a bit down. it's any wonder that they sell anything at their prices. I'm based in Europe so i can pick around the independant suppliers. Plus i do all my own repairs and servicing so save there as well. I suppose the crippling factor is that freighting goods stateside is where you lose out. I notice too that your wife gets the 2003SE, What is it about wives, it must be a subcontious thing, that said, if they are happy then we get to go out and shoot at things......
