For snakes I suggest a .22 revolver, you can get a good single action for about 100 to 150 dollars. They're dependable and pretty accurate. Another to consider is a .357/38 since rat shot ammo is easily found, perfect for rats and snakes. A good thing about the .357 is the stopping power, making it perfect for home defense. I live on a Ranch to, but in Florida. I've had to deal with coyotes quite a bit, and when your working and can't get a rifle a large caliber pistol can take a coyote with a torso shot easily. i do like the .357, not too much kick for a woman and a good handgrip size. also, thanks for reminding me of the single action, i don't like double action because if i've picked up the gun, i've mad a decision to shoot. i don't need the extra weight. also, i'm quite a fan of steve mcqueen, i ride a vintage honda on account of it reminds me of steve. |
