Thats right people, the democrats are at it again. I figured I would put the word out on this forum so my fellow red blooded, right bare arms supporting, gun loving americans a heads up. If you value your rights now is the time to stand up. We need to start contacting our local representitives and let them know that this can not be tolerated and urge them not to support this bill. Remember that the second ammendment has nothing to do with hunting. Here is the link. It is a lot of technical speak but you will get the idea. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=h110-1022 If this goes through we will be back to 10 round mags. |

Another totally useless piece of legislation by the most worthless crazy party in america. Hell why not just make firearms illegal for everyone. we could just hold hands with the drug dealers, thieves, rapists and other criminals, and just sing khum-bay-ya. This is absolutly ridiculous pretty soon this will be Britain without suppressors. |

You've got to be kidding me. I love the definition of barrel shroud, I guess the liberals want us to burn our hands on hot barrel. I expected to see Ar 15s, AKs, Fals, etc. etc. But M1 Carbine and Hi point carbines. Sounds like another witch hunt to me. Oh and love the words semi automatic assault weapon, isn't that an oxymoron? I really hope that there is no real way that this will pass. It far exceeds any previous legislation. The Grandfathering of legally purchased arms is why I'm expanding my arsenal as we type! |

Keep up what needs to be done and that is making noise enough that most gun owners will wake up and do what they need to do and that is write their Senators and Congressman. As each year goes by, especially goes by with the Democrates in command, we will continue to have problems keeping what we all treasure, and that is our freedom and to own and bear arms. This is indeed the land of free but, the only brave ones are those fighting for their freedom whether in the active military or those who are fighting the powers to be right here at home. The rest are in Washington stealing all they can, or making a name for themselves so, they can write their next book. |

The vast majority of this great country are too comfortable and have bad memory's. People have forgotten the biggest strike against our way of life and our freedom. People have forgot 09/11/2001. Then they listen to all the false messages and look how it is tearing apart this country. If people forget past history it will turn around and bite you in the rear. They have a tiger by the tail. We had this same problem before, If you are old enough to remember what happened to this country during Vietnam. Well folks it is happening again. Step back and take a look! There are ways to help stop this. Use your right to VOTE, Use any of the many ways and let your elected officials know how you feel. The Government works for us not the other way around. We are in the fight of our freedoms and way of life. If we lose or don't fight in Iraq and Afghanistan we will be fighting it here. Or are we going to look the other way and then one day ask what happened? United we Stand and Divided we Fall |

I do not know if any of you have written your Senators or Congressman about the attitude that prevails in Washington right now after the tragedy in Virginia Tech. But, many are pushing HR 297 right now that is designed to improve on the Brady Instant Check, and if passed will impact who can buy a gun in this country. For intance a soldier that has fought for his country in Iraq and has had some problems due to the combat fatuige and strain that is temporary and being treated. But this bill would keep anyone that falls into this catagory from buying a gun. This bill if passed will take this country in the wrong direction. The best improvement of the Brady Law would be to repeal it and end the "gun free zones" nonsense that keeps Americans defenseless and disarmed. Write to your representatives, not enough are taking the time and one day we will wake up with no guns in our houses because of lack of action on our part. There are to many Democrats that want to disarm our country and citizens and now there are some Republicans joining in the band wagon. Write, write and write some more. |

I hate to beat this drum again, but, I received another e-mail this morning warning gun owners of what the Democrats are trying to do to all who own guns. Anti-gun Rep. John Dingell (D-MI) continues his assult on American gun owners. Dingell has been tapped by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to broker a compromise with Carolyn McKarthy (D-NY) on H.R. 297, a gun control bill being pushed in the wake of the Virginia Tech shootings. The bill provides about $1 billion to the states to "provide the National Instant Criminal Backgroud Check System [NICS] with all records concerning persons who ae prohibited from possessing or receiving a firearm...regardless of the elapsed time since the disqualifying event." Gun Owners Of America has pointed out this could lead to millions more Americans being included in the FBI's database of prohibited persons. We also have another problem in that Dingell is in negotiations with the NRA to come up with a 'compromise' as quickly as possible. The NRA itself told Newsweek in an exclusive interview on April 24 that the group "backs [the] proposed new legislation " in the House. Friends we have a huge problem, if this H.R. 297 passes many people who have already bought guns will all of a sudden come under scrutiny of the FBI once they are added to their records. Why is the NRA supporting this bill? Could it be that Democrat Dingell was once a former board member of the NRA? It looks like may law abiding citizens will all of a sudden become suspect in the governments eyes if this bill is passed. Politicians always seek to pass laws in the aftermath of a tragedy, as if one more law will stop evil people from doing evil deeds. Instead of passing more and more laws that ultimately will snuff out our liberty, we should consider repealing gun control laws that prevent citizens from defending themselves when madman strikes. Bullseye Bullseye! Down here in sunny Georgia we are right serious about our guns. Senators Johhny Isakson and Saxby Chambliss are good friends of mine and had an earful from me and both my daughters. Our Congressman recently passed away but one of the guys running for his seat is Bob Broun (R)who is a staunch NRA and gun rights supporter. We are all hoping he'll take the race. The point I want to make is ANY law that infringes on our rights to bear arms is simply Un-freekin-constitutional. The Va-Tech massacre could have been avoided by one other student with a gun. Bot my girls are graduates of UGA, a "gun free school." When they heard that they both said, "Screw that we are keeping our guns." And they did with my full support. The Democrats simply do not want us to be able to defend ourselves. They WANT us to be TOTALLY dependant on Government for everything. In closing I am simply going to quote others much wiser than I. "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." Is any of that unclear to any honest thinking person? Life is short, THIS IS NOT A DRILL! |

JD Carp, we in Alabama are right serious about our guns also. Unlike you I am not good friends with our Senators or Congressman, but, most of us around here are making sure that they continue to stay on the side of our freedoms. The point isn't for those who are in favor of gun control, none of us on this site would not fall in that catagory. But, we have some in Washington that seem to have fallen into the majority and want to ammend the second ammendment in part, and in my oppinion even in part is un constitutional. But, try they will, and keep talking to your Republican Senators and Congressmen so they do not ever forget who put them there in the first place. And horray for your daughters JD, I only hope that we have more like them coming up in the ranks. I feel that the right to arm ourselves is what the Demo's are agraid of and they surely do not understand the or give a hoot about the statistics of the crime rates in states that have conceal carry permits, they go way down. But, so much for statistics. |
