Since all of the posts were deleted I'd thought I start an old post again lol, lets talk about the 54R again, I just Purchased a 1942 Tula Marked Mosin Nagant M91/30 Ex-PU Sniper Rifle from Big 5 for $89.00 bucks, it has the Tula "ch" sniper marks on the barrel, the scope mount holes were welded off, and the arsenal who rebuilt the gun before importing it in the country replaced the turned down bolt w/ a regular stright bolt off of a regular 91/30, their are the cut in the stock for the scope mounts to fit correctly, So I am planning of refurbishing the stock, Putting another Turned down Bolt on it, and I've found a PU Scope and Scope Mounts for it that I am going to put back on it... I was totally shocked that the importer didn't notice what it was, because original marked PU's can go for $600.00 easy just for the rifle, $89.00 for a gun that will be worth over a grand easy after I'm done restoring it, what a deal... Last year bought a full sniper rifle with scope and accessories for $340 from Slouthern Ohio Gun. It is nice. As I have communicated with others who own the rifle, I have been impressed with the accuracy of the rifle. Several people use it as their predominant hunting weapon. I on the other hand have "killed" an unknown number of circular paper targets while I have owned it. I'm just glad that they haven't put a limit on those yet or a paper target season. Hey you laugh, but just watch when the Washington powers change over. They may use this as a campaign issue. |
