The Russian invasion of Georgia could be the first step, the second invade Poland, and ultimately draw the U.S. into a conflict Russia. A Russian general said that talks between United States and Poland of installing a missile defense system in Poland "puts Poland at risk for attack". They have even hinted at a nuclear attack on Poland. If Russia dares attack Poland, that might trigger the next World War.
The situation is freighting. The previous World Wars started over seemingly small events that escalated quickly. Mother Russia seems to be eager to fight and will not tolerate anyone that gets in their way.
The next U.S. President will have to deal with the Russians. The United States will not have NATO’s full resources as France, Germany and Italy will refuse to get involved.
Russia isn’t country without nerve, they have the power, and are fierce invaders.
Sitting back and not doing anything has happened before in the past. And will enable them to conquer a majority of Europe before the world powers will lift a finger. While Russia was "protecting" South Ossetia how does protecting turn into invading a sanctioned nation?
Get ready to duck people when you hear NATO forces starting to mobilize or US carrier battle groups start to head to the area. When that happens hold on, the ride could get extremely rough.
